A little about LaChelle
LaChelle is a compassionate and dedicated counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She also holds undergraduate degrees in Forensic Psychology and Substance Use Counseling, giving her a strong foundation in emotional wellness, behavioral patterns, and recovery. Her substance use counseling background is heavily informed by Motivational Interviewing, allowing her to meet clients with curiosity, respect, and without judgment.
LaChelle works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, identity exploration, life transitions, self-doubt, relationship concerns, family conflict, trauma, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. She provides an affirming and inclusive space where clients can feel heard, better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and develop confidence in moving forward. She is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and others exploring identity, self-worth, and meaningful personal change.
Her approach is collaborative and personalized to each client’s needs. She draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal Theory, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Her work also incorporates Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Prolonged Exposure, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
LaChelle believes therapy should offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore experiences, understand patterns, heal from the past, and reconnect with oneself and others. She recognizes that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable and would be honored to support clients as they take that first step toward healing and lasting change.
